GTSC is proud to annouce that we have been granted approval by OPITO in respect of the following training and/or assesssment programmes in addition to previously approved BOSIET/FOET Courses.

1. Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (TBOSIET)
2. Tropical Further Offshore Emergency Training (TFOET)

For personal who travel to different regions in the world an OPITO approved course means that they should not have to take additional safety training as OPITO is the most international recognized standards for safety training around the world in the Oil and Gas industry.

T-BOSIET (Tropical Basic Safety Induction & Emergency Training) is a 3 day course for personal who have not been offshore before which comprises training in Basic Offshore Safety, First Aid, HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training), Sea Survival and Basic Fire Fighting which is valid for 4 years.

T-FOET (Tropical Further Offshore Emergency Training) is a one day refresher for personal who have already trained T-BOSIET or BOSIET provided they take the course before their current certificate expires.

The difference between T-BOSIET and BOSIET (which we are already approved for) is the T-BOSIET is designed for tropical climates, i.e. warm water such as here in the Arabian Gulf, the Far East, Malaysia etc. The T-BOSIET does not include the cold water element of the full BOSIET course (survival suits and emergency breathing systems are not used during the HUET training) and is therefore more applicably to our clients in this region.
